Construction is officially underway for the McMaster Centre for Continuing Education’s future home at 1 James Street North. If you’ve been by that location lately, you’ve likely seen tradespeople in and out of the building.
We also recently installed signs announcing our planned move in April, 2015. It’s no coincidence that the signs are up in time for September’s Supercrawl. Tens of thousands of people attend the art and music festival on James Street North, and we’re excited to share news about our new location during that event.
McMaster CCE will continue to be a cornerstone of the downtown community and we’re thrilled to be a part of the renewal of James Street North.
CCE will draw thousands of adult learners to the neighbourhood on evenings and weekends. Before and after classes, students will visit local restaurants and retailers, adding to the vibrancy of this downtown neighbourhood.
For now, it’s business as usual for the fall term with classes held at 50 Main Street East, and online. Students registered for Winter 2015 courses will receive detailed information about the move closer to the date. During the move there will be minimal interruption to in-person courses and there will be no interruption to online courses. (Winter registration is already open – no need to wait!)
